15+ Years
Of renovation and construction experience across the GTA.
Of renovation and construction experience across the GTA.
Drawn, priced and scheduled before anything is torn out.
Houses, condos and commercial fit-outs, by the same in-house team.
Our paramount focus, on 450+ completed projects.
At True Form Construction our philosophy is simple — getting it right the first time.
After starting as a small construction company serving the local area of Richmond Hill, we slowly grew to taking on more residential and commercial clients in the York region and the Greater Toronto Area. We have since become a trusted and reliable expert construction and design company across the GTA.
Our team includes a staff of fully licensed and trained individuals who understand customer service and attention to detail — treating your home like it was their own, and never leaving a job unfinished.
A detailed quote outlining the complete scope of work, with no hidden charges.
Regular meetings once your project starts. You will have our cell numbers and can reach us by text or email at any time.
We will not sell you services or products that add nothing to the finished renovation.
No corners cut, and only the finest materials in the renovation of your bathroom, kitchen or basement.
As much technical detail as you want, from the first walkthrough of your home to the last day of the project.
Never a mess left behind, at the end of the day or the end of the project. We haul away all materials and tools.
Eric came to Canada in 2001 with an engineering degree from Ukraine and the kind of structural mindset that asks why a wall holds before it asks what colour to paint it. Like many newcomers with European credentials, he started over — first on Toronto construction sites, then progressively in design and project oversight as North York builders recognised the engineer behind the toolbelt.
Across ten years and dozens of projects under other companies’ names, the same problem kept surfacing: designers drawing details that could not be built, builders modifying plans without telling the designer, homeowners caught in the middle paying for every miscommunication. By the time the bathroom was tiled, three people had each blamed the other two — and the budget had quietly grown 30%.
A renovation is not a list of materials. It is a system. And systems fail at their interfaces — not at their components.
Eric Kotlyar, founder
In 2011, Eric founded True Form Construction to fix exactly that gap. The company was built around a single structural principle borrowed from his engineering training: eliminate the interface between designer and builder, and you eliminate where renovations go wrong.
Today, True Form is a fully integrated design-build firm — every kitchen, basement, addition and condo renovation moves through one team, one schedule and one fixed-price contract. 450+ completed projects, 25 years of personal experience in the trades, and 15 years of building the company that proved the theory right.
That same engineering rigour is why journalists reach out to Eric for expert commentary — on subjects ranging from subfloor reinforcement for cast-iron bathtubs to the heat-dissipation failures of LED strips installed in enclosed wooden coves.
In October 2025, True Form Construction stood as a “Light the Way” sponsor of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Night Light Walk Toronto — a three-kilometre walk through Kew Gardens raising funds for Nellie’s Shelter and Red Door Family Shelter, organisations that protect women and children fleeing intimate partner violence.
Most of what we do is build homes. A home is supposed to be a refuge. For people who have lost that, the shelters that catch them are not optional — they are life-saving. We support them every year.
Design, cost, timeline and scope defined before anything is torn out. No moving targets, no surprise invoices.
